The final meeting of the working group ended the activities of drafting the Strategy in the field of migration and asylum and the Action Plan for the period 2021-2025 in BiH

Hilfswerk International, together with its project partner Association HAJDE and in cooperation with the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina successfully held the final meeting of the Working group for the development of the "Strategy in the field of migration and asylum and Action Plan for the period 2021-2025“ from the 27th to the 30th of September 2021 in Neum. The activity was implemented as part of the project  "Reducing Irregular Migration in the EU by Strengthening the Capacity of Migration-Related Structures in the Western Balkans".

In the past 4 months, representatives and members of the working group have taken an active part in creating, reviewing, and adapting the text of the said strategic document.
Recent activities included the final consideration of comments and suggestions on the draft text of the Strategy in the field of migration and asylum and the Action plan, which resulted in the determination of their final versions.

At the end of the meeting, mrs. Murveta Džaferović, Assistant Minister in the Immigration Sector of the Ministry of Security of BiH, Muris Kodžaga, Regional Project Manager on behalf of Hilfswerk International, and Nina Jašarević, President of the Association for Help and Development HAJDE, project partner, stated the importance of such a document for Bosnia and Herzegovina in terms of future activities and issues of migration and asylum. 

The finalised documents will be sent into the procedure of voting and adoption, after which they will be proofread, translated, printed, and implemented within the given period of 2021-2025 by the Ministry of Security of BiH, the Service for Foreigner's Affairs of BiH, Border Police of BiH, the Ministries of Internal Affairs at the entity level, and other relevant institutions mentioned in the documents.

The project "Reducing Irregular Migration in the EU by Strengthening the Capacity of Migration-Related Structures in the Western Balkans" is co-financed by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and the Federal Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Austria and implemented by Hilfswerk International in cooperation with the Association for Help and Development "HAJDE”.
