Continuing the activities on the project "Reducing irregular migration to the EU by strengthening the capacity of migration-related structures in the Western Balkans", Hilfswerk International supported the organisation of a meeting of field offices of the Service for Foreigners Affairs of BiH, from June 30 to July 02, in Konjic. On this occasion, the gathered representatives of the field offices of the Service had the opportunity to coordinate and mutually harmonise their needs to strengthen their own capacities.

In this way, together with representatives and holders of procedures for resolving issues and problems of migration in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the meeting emphasised the importance of operational and inspection competencies in this context, through active work on collecting data about the various types of irregular migration, supervision, and control of foreigners, as well as issues of abuse and illegal use of residence in our country.

By exchanging information and interacting with each other through practical examples and an analysis of the current situation, the participants' aim was to ensure a high level of cooperation and coordination, as well as to strengthen the Service's internal capacities to handle irregular migration in BiH.

The project "Reducing Irregular Migration in the EU by Strengthening the Capacity of Migration-Related Structures in the Western Balkans" is co-financed by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and the Federal Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Austria and implemented by Hilfswerk International in cooperation with the Association for Help and Development "HAJDE”.
