Continuation of the Workshop on Ambiguities in the Application of the Law on Foreigners of Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Workshop "Implementation of the Law on Foreigners - Ambiguities in Application", organised by the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hilfswerk International, continues its work from October 23 to 25, 2024 in Jahorina, which is held as part of the project "Strengthening Migration Management, Asylum and Return Processes in the Western Balkans", funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and the Federal Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Austria.
Considering the complexity of the Law on Foreigners of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the workshop aims to help participants gain a clear picture of the procedures for its implementation. This will be achieved through the exchange of experiences and expert interpretations of all relevant aspects of the legal status of foreigners in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the first part of the workshop, held from October 14 to 17, 2024, participants gained a deeper understanding of the basic principles of the Law on Foreigners through interactive sessions and analysis of real cases. The discussions covered the rights and obligations of foreigners, types of permits, application procedures and deportation procedures. Special attention was paid to practical examples and solving the most common problems in the implementation of the law.
In accordance with the goals of the project, the following workshop will focus on the analysis of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Foreigners of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its connection with the Law on Asylum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. With these activities, Hilfswerk International contributes to more effective asylum management in BiH, which is one of the key goals of the project "Strengthening Migration Management, Asylum and Return Processes in the Western Balkans".
