Key representatives of the Centres for social work took an active part in the three-day training program aimed at exchanging experiences and improving cooperation between the Centers for social work and security structures in BiH, held in Neum from September 7 to 9, 2021. Participants were from Sarajevo Canton, Una-Sana Canton, and the Centre for social work Foča, along with representatives of the Ministry of Security BiH, the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs BiH, the Ministry of the Interior of FBiH and international organizations operating in BiH on this issue.

The training program was aimed at exchanging practical experiences in work and transferring knowledge and ways of using current capacities, as well as getting acquainted with legal regulations concerning the treatment and procedures in working with vulnerable categories.

Active work and discussion resulted in defining the needs for future networking, knowledge transfer, and harmonisation of procedures, as well as plans and the course of future cooperation in accordance with needs, all with the aim of enabling and providing the most adequate conditions for vulnerable categories of migrants located on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The project "Reducing Irregular Migration in the EU by Strengthening the Capacity of Migration-Related Structures in the Western Balkans" is co-financed by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and the Federal Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Austria and implemented by Hilfswerk International in cooperation with the Association for Help and Development "HAJDE”.
