Hilfswerk International implements the project “Sustainable Strengthening of Local Health Systems in the Western Balkans: Improving the health of older people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and know-how transfer in the mobile care and support from Austria to the Western Balkans region” funded by the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Republic of Austria.
The overall project strives to strengthen local health systems in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Northern Macedonia by contributing to reducing the health and social consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic for older people and strengthening the capacity for home-based care and support in these countries.
Within the project, Hilfswerk International will conduct a procurement procedure No. 650/14-SR-T02/22 for selection of an expert for carrying out a Study in Republic of Serbia on analyzes of existing structures and laws for mobile home care workers for elderly and recognition of caregivers as a profession in the labor market.
The purposes of the service contract is creation of the Study to initiate a dialogue in all three countries in order to recognize mobile home caregivers as a profession and improve policies on caregivers and care for the elderly and people in need, through roundtables and meetings with representatives of relevant institutions at the state level (and the NGO sector) and regional presentation of issues and recommendations for national and local levels (more details in the Terms of Reference to be delivered to invited bidders in the consecutive procedure).
